Sunday

Another sunny Sunday started at Jacobi with coffee and croissant and led us to Tempelhof, where Fleur had a nice long walk up and down the runway. I ended up baking spontaneous English Muffins as we were out of bread and no good bakery was open. First attempt, and not a bad one.

Jacobi

Jacobi opened last summer very close to Hermannplatz in the buildings connecting to the Jacobi graveyard. It is one of those places I really like to visit, due to their beautiful minimalistic interior, nice staff and great coffee of course.

I am also a big fan of their huge terrace in the back. It gives directly on the graveyard and is relatively undisturbed. I've spend many hours here last summer as a convenient stop during my many hours of pushing Fleur around in the pram, and I cannot wait until it is warm enough to sit here again. It is so unique to find a quiet place like this in the middle of a buzzing and awful place like Hermannplatz.

Spring Sunday

Sunday was the first real spring day this year. In fact it was so warm, that we could wear our midseason jackets and had to dress down once we came out.

We took a walk down to Hermannplatz to go to the Photobooth - something we have done a bit more frequently since Fleur joined our lives. We ended up having to get two strips as she hardly made it on to the first one. In between we went to Jacobi - one of my new favourite coffee spots - and had sunday croissants. Lots of people were outside enjoying the sun and the first warmth.

In the afternoon we were at the playground and took a walk around Körner Park so Fleur cold use her newly acquired walking skills outside.

Sunny

Most of February was really sunny and icy cold and right now, it looks like march is continuing in the same trail. Unlike large parts of Europe we have not had any real snow here. But even though I can go out without getting my feet wet, the icy weather has still made inside my favourite place to be.

I have seen people sitting outside in the sun, trying to catch every glimpse of light, but I always gets chilled by the thought of it. Luckily we have the sun right at home throughout the day, so there is no real need to go out except for a bit of fresh air and the occasional coffee.
