Passing the Weekend!

This weekend it seems like we did a lot or at least time past by very fast. The regular coffee place is closed for a week so we had to find somewhere new. Friday we went to the cinema and afterwards attended the opening of an exhibition. Saturday we walked a lot went to the market and had nice food. I saved a Galette des Rois in the freezer for when Vincent would come. It was as good as I remember.
Sunday we went to the flea market and I bought a little thing to remember Nantes by. Weather is getting nicer. Today it has been very warm. This week I have vacation from school and I am hoping for a week, which will be beautiful sunny and warm like today.

Moonrise Kingdom!

Yesterday we went to a very empty cinema to hide out in the chilly afternoon and watch Moonrise Kingdom. A very very cute movie.
It had everything that a good movie should contain.

Coffee, Books and Cinema!

Today after having lunch with my father I sat down for a coffee and read a bit.
This afternoon I was going to my Favorite cinema in Copenhagen to see the Woody Allen Documentary. It was a bit windy and my coffee cup kept blowing away. So it was a perfect day to spend inside sitting in a comfy cinema chair.
It was a really interesting film about his life and his whole career. One thing that I found great is how he after all these years still use the same typewriter to write his manuscripts as when he was writing his very first jokes for a local Brooklyn newspaper.
Before the movie I had a bit of time to go to the big book sale across the road.
Now I have at least a kilo or two more to bring with me.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind!

Some days ago I saw "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind" again.
Besides the ambiguous storyline and the great cinematography I like it because it made me think of those people that we sometimes wish we could erase from your memory. Maybe because they treated us wrong, hurt us or simple because they didn't have the same desire to be a part of our lives as we wishes to be a part of theirs.
But like in the movie I think there is always that one memory that we would like to hold on to.
Because it meant something special, because it was beautiful and because without it we wouldn't be the same.

An Angel In Disguise!

A while ago my friend Angie send me a Angel-A (2005). A movie that I think is worth sharing with you. If you haven't already seen it, you'll have a chance not to miss it. 

André is a low life. He owes money all over Paris, and he has only 12 hours to come up with his depth or he will suffer a horrible death. In a miserable state he almost takes his own life, but standing at the wrong side of the bridge he encounters a woman who have had the same idea. She turns out to be an angel, and after rescuing her from drowning, she helps him get his life back into order and makes him become a better man.
It is beautiful, it is french, it is all the way through a feel good movie.

The Artist!

Yesterday it was the last chance to go and see The Artist at Curzon cinema. And so Michael and I went to see the movie that everyone has been talking so much about.
For those who haven't heard of it yet, it is a black and white silent movie produced in 2011, about a silent movie actor in the late 1920's who refuses to adapt to speaking motion pictures.  

To be honest. I was exited but also prepared to be bored. I have never watched a 1 hour and 40 minute long silent movie before. In fact I have neglected to watch some of the DVDs in my Hitchcock collection just for that reason.
But I was not bored for one minute, in fact I was surprised how entertaining it was. Although some people have said that it is somehow to nostalgic I think it was a really nice story. I never missed hearing voices, and loved how they played with the sound throughout the movie. Definitely recommendable.
