Remembering the Sunny Days

These days the weather is pretty unreliable. One minute the sun is shining and it fells warm, five minutes later it hails and has stormy tendencies. When the sky is too grey and dark it makes me happy to think back of all the wonderful sunny days we had in March.

Here are some random photos I took on my way around town on those sunny days.

Flea-market Findings

Some newly found stuff from the flea-market. And quite a bargain. 1 euro together.
It is funny, cause when I find nice things for so little money, I almost appreciate them more. 

Mellie's Home no. 2!

Mellie's home is filled up with flea-market findings and stuff collected from a variety of locations and people. I went there the other day and had a re-encounter with the yellow floral couch that used to be in my grandparents living room when I was a child. It feels good to know that she still uses it and takes care of it and it fits very well into her place.

I went, as I was picking of an old labor stool from a bunch she brought back from her stay in Budapest. Maybe you remember her lovely home there?

Weekend!

Now Indian summer is definitely over, and this weekend Berlin has shown itself from its most "autumny" side. On a half rainy Saturday morning we went to Schöneberg to explore a flea-market there for the first time. We will definitely go back again, found some nice stuff that we could not live without and nice pink flowers on our walk back to the station.

Today I spend most of the day inside doing Sunday things, like enjoying stroking the cat as long as I can (his vacation here is soon over). I also had time to make a Danish apple cake. Since there are so many great apples right now it has become a bit of a habit on weekends.  I ended the day with a little outside stroll and some joined cooking.

Details From Wedding!

Last Saturday we took the U-bahn to Leopoldplatz to see, if we could find anything for house at the flee-market there. It was a lovely sunny day and I had worn way to much clothes. After going through the piles of junk we decided to make a little detour to get to the U-bahn. It is somehow always nice to be in an unexplored part of town. There are so many new things to see compared to the walk usually taken in my own area.

A Place Were Dreams Begin To Flow!

Vincent and I have been on the hunt for an old industrial lamp, for the kitchen, for a while, and it so happened that one of Teal's friends is the guy who brings them back from the old east-block. So we went to his warehouse, that turned out to be the most amazing old run down factory I have seen in a long time.

The sun was shining and the rays coming through the broken windows made the place even more dreamlike. I really have a predilection for places like this, I can get lost in endless imaginations of what was here before and why that no longer is.

I the front yard we saw some old pieces of the Berliner Mauer. Very nostalgic. Wondered if they were also up for sale?
