Kind of last minute DIY - what-do-I-have-at-home-I-can-use - Christmas cards. They are all individual, made out of a photo series from an old Cereal magazine. Minimalist forest landscapes with a simple greeting.
Even though I have way to many things on my hands right now, I still wanted to sit down and write some Christmas greetings and let people know, that I think about them. They might end up arriving after Christmas as I still have not made it to the postoffice, but Vincent told me, it is the thought that counts.

Festive Christmas Time
One nice thing about Christmas in Berlin is that there is not too much Christmas filling up the streets. Especially in our neighborhood. Christmas exist in spesific places and you can go there if you wish to indulge. At home I desided to decorate a bit more for Christmas than usually. Since my family was coming I also organised a Christmas tree (although not quite traditional).
It does somehow brighten up the place in these dark times and the livingroom seemed a little bit more sad when I took down the ornaments and put the tree back out on the balcony so that it would not dry out.

Teddy
Back in July, my friend Tina had a little boy. So I recently went to see him for the first time and for the occasion I spend some time on a little teddy for him, in bright colors and with moveable limbs.
I have been told that he is a hit.
I found the inspiration for him here. There should be a PDF pattern if you feel up to the task.

Home Improvement no. 4 - New Shelves!
Finally we have somewhere to store our books. Vincent build this great shelf system that we can always add another box to as the books are continuing to come in. So for the moment no more piles on the floor.

Home Improvement no.3!
After finishing painting the room the first goal was to build a desk so we both have a steady workplace. I know I already shown this on Instagram and in my recap here. But since it was so nice to see the wood, we brought home, transformed into this table, I thought I would share it.
As you can maybe tell the pictures are a bit old. We are no longer taking care of the cat, but he enjoyed his moment in the spotlight.

History Revealing Itself!
It finally happened. After three years apart we are back in the same city, in the same apartment, and now we are trying to build a common home.We have started to tear down the old and soon we'll build up new. It is all very exiting.
While ripping of the wallpaper in the extra room, it was interesting to see all the many layers of wallpaper underneath giving clues of the prior residents and their taste. It is a shame that it is not possible just to peal of one layer and keep one of the ones you like the best.

New Computer Case!
A new computer calls for a new computer case. Maybe you remember my old one? It was getting more and more worn down. Recently I finished this one in a beautiful leather with my name at the front. Can't wait to leave it in the sun over the summer, so the leather will get a nice burned color.

DIY Done!
I have been coming in Vincents apartment for almost 18 months now and it wasn't until resently that I sat down on his old Berlin chair.
Maybe it has just always been covered with stuff when I have been around, or maybe I just found somewhere else to sit. I must say that it was less than a pleasant experience as the upholstery was old and itchy. So I proposed to change the cover. To be his personal DIY upholster.
Now my project has come to an end. I am very satisfied and I have to say also a bit jealouse that it is not going to be a part of a new home in London.
However I must say it goes very well with the rest of Vincents place.

Another Thing To Keep Me Going!
Between the other things I am doing I started a new little DIY project today. By the first look of it I can tell that it will be good.
Stay tuned and I will reveal the final result once I am done.

Home Improvement!
A while ago I found an empty shell on the street. An old piece of furniture that someone didn't want anymore.
It was the same color as my grandmothers closet. The one I brought back and forth from Berlin, so in a way I felt this was meant to be found by me.
And by taking out some old would, and putting in some shelves...
and with the right tool...
and a trip to the DIY store.
With a bit of paint....
and some patience....
I could take of the tape and I just needed....
some rearranging of things
And I had a brand new corner in my room, with a new shelf for my clothes.
