From Mitte to Neukölln

On Thursday, it was a lovely weather. 28 degrees and a blue sky. We took the train to Mitte to do some errands and walked the walk back to Neukölln with Fleur sleeping in the pram. There was people everywhere, they all wanted to enjoy the nice summer weather. I managed to get quite a lot of colour on my arms, so after a couple of days with so much sun, I was happy to have a partly cloudy Saturday so my sensitive winter-skin could have a mini break.

Berlin Roofs

At the beginning of last week, I went up the air to a yet unknown vantage point and had a great view over Neukölln and all the way to the west and the far east. It was a beautiful day with super crisp air so I thought I'll take some pictures and share them.

Festive Christmas Time

One nice thing about Christmas in Berlin is that there is not too much Christmas filling up the streets. Especially in our neighborhood. Christmas exist in spesific places and you can go there if you wish to indulge. At home I desided to decorate a bit more for Christmas than usually. Since my family was coming I also organised a Christmas tree (although not quite traditional).

It does somehow brighten up the place in these dark times and the livingroom seemed a little bit more sad when I took down the ornaments and put the tree back out on the balcony so that it would not dry out.

The Thing About Spring

It can make you discover new sides to a neighbourhood that you thought you knew. Like recently,  when I discovered this huge magnolia tree just 3 minutes walk from where I live. I can't believe that I have missed it the previous years. It made me think about Nantes and the many magnolias there.

August September Instagram Recap

So August and September flew by pretty fast, and somehow they seemed to melt into one. In between my many post from Bornholm I forgot to post a recap from August. So this time you get a double one with some of all the pretty houses at Bornholm, in Copenhagen and Berlin.

Berlin Guide Update

It's been a long time, but I finally got around to make an update on my Berlin guide. I have removed some stuff and put in a lot of new places and experiences, that you could use as inspiration, if you are headed this way. You can check it out here, or use the link on the side bar.

Thai Market

Something I wanted to do for a while, is to try the Wilmersdorf Sunday Thai Market, where food is prepared on the spot and there is a feeling of real eating out picnic.

So one Sunday not so long ago we took the train to Wilmersdorf, where we first went for a walk to see a bit the area. Then we visited the flea market at Fehrberliner Platz, where we bought Risk for the affordable price of one euro. And then we spend a couple of hours in the sun snacking on good and spicy Thai food with a lot of other people. A really nice new Berlin experience. It won't be the last time we go there for sure.
