Walk to Tejn

If we went in the opposite direction of Allinge, we were bound to hit Tejn in a couple of kilometers. We decided to walk there one morning, since there is a nice path all the way along the coast. It was a very windy day, and the ocean had some crazy waves, but luckily the sun was shining and kept us warm despite the wind.

When we arrived at Tejn, it was time for a drink and luckily (with a bit of difficulty) we managed to find the local brewery at the harbor. They have exiting things going on, with brewing beer and then aging it on old vine and liqueur barrels. Since it has to age for 6 month to 3 years, we had to settle for what they had on tap. Eleven is definitely not too early for a beer fresh from the draft. After all, we were on holidays.

Sandvig Is Kalas

Kalas in Sandvig was such a nice little place to stumble upon. We passed it on our first day, and I knew, we had to go back later to try their coffee, since it is locally roasted.

Both Ice-cream and coffee was delicious, and with the great view over the sea, direct access to ice-cream joy on the rocks and nice inside athmosphere, this could easily become my favorite hang out spot had I lived nearby.

Allinge

At Bornholm we stayed quite close to Allinge, which I found to be the nicest town we visited. At least when it comes to hygge-factor. Perhaps it was because we could walk there in 15 min to get fresh pastry in the morning, but also because it seemed full of live despite its small size.

Sunday we went for a walk through Allinge and Sandvig, and had our first of many fishy lunches, during the week long vacation, at Allinge Røgeri, with small batch beer, sand around our angels and a view to the sea.

A House on Bornholm

One week in Bornholm. That was all we had. But it was a great week with so many wonderful experiences and so much delicious food. It was very peaceful there and now being back, Berlin seems quite loud in comparison.

We stayed in a little summerhouse with a great view and direct access to the sea. There was a serious wild life in the garden. Deers came to visit, we had daily intertainment from two wild rabbits and pheasants also passed from time to time.

We arrived just in time for wild berry season, and each morning I went out to pick fresh berries for my breakfast. I even encountered a new berry that I never head off or saw before: The dewberry, which was also quite tasty. I brought sourdough and had time to do some baking, so my dad and Vincent could wake up to fresh baked buns, and each evening we had delicious smoked fish (the island specialty) and homemade cheesecake.
