One of the many great things about Denmark in June is the beautiful rhododendron bushes that are blooming everywhere. I am sure you have noticed them on my previous post, because in Hillerød there seems to be a lot. Maybe it seems so because they have these massive bushed where my parents live and I was there right in the primetime. I enjoyed them every single day when going out for my walk and coming back.

Cloudy Summer Walk
I spend the last three weeks in Denmark visiting family and friends so everyone could meet Fleur. In the end I didn't manage to see as many people as I would have liked to, but luckily Denmark is not too far away, so I can always go back.
The days looked pretty much like they do in Berlin, and as always I took a lot of walks with the pram, just in a different scenery. My father and I went for a walk to around Bregnerød. Here there is an organic farm shop where we bought fresh green asperges for our lunch and had an ice-cream next to all the chickens.
It was a very cloudy and windy day, but luckily we dodged the rain and Fleur was sleeping peacefully in the pram during the walk.

Spring Back and Forth.
The Germans say: Der April macht was er will, and April really does. So far we have had beautiful spring days, almost bordering summer where we could go out in t-shirt, and now it is wet and cold. Weather forecast says rain for the next 10 days, which is quite depressing. Even if everything is blooming and looking freshly green, spring is just more enjoyable when the sky is blue and the sun is shining.
We have manage to bring a little bit of spring inside, as someone butchered a tree in Hasenheide and I took some of the leftovers. So now we can follow the development at close range. I still hope that the forecast is wrong and that easter will be - if not warm - at least a bit sunny, so it will be nicer to take my daily walk with the pram.
I hope you will have some good easter days and enjoy the time off.

Ups...
Right now we have beautiful sunny weather in Berlin and on top, it is pretty warm and almost feels like spring.
A little mishap happened while it was still freezing outside. The fig plant that I bought 2 years ago on our holiday to Bornholm needed to be taken inside to be protected during the frosty nights. But as we don't have anywhere really cool inside to place it - the coolest place being the pantry, which is still at least 18 degrees - the fig plant thought spring had come early and started to sprout. Now it even produced its first fig, The plan was to put it back outside as soon as it got warmer, but now I think we need to keep it inside until summer arrives in Berlin.

Freesias.
Sometimes it could be great if it was possible to make a scented post on the blog. Because this one is all about smell. I think freesia must be my favorite flower. Not only is it decorative, but every time I come home, I am greeted with its lovely scent, that has taken over the majority of the apartment. And strangely I cannot get enough.

Champagne
One of the things I enjoyed most about our holiday was just driving around through the landscape and small villages. Therefore, here are some pictures from around Champagne, with vineyards, chateaux, and war memorials.

Easter In Denmark
We took a short trip to Denmark over easter and spend some time with my family and had some great food. We arrived early on Saturday, which was a really lovely spring day, so we took a walk around Hillerød to buy a couple of things and gather some appetite.
It is great how many different colors there are outside at the moment. It is one of the things I enjoy most about spring. Even though the trees are still bare, one gets the sense that everything can burst out at any given moment. I hope it will and at the same time I wouldn't mind if it stayed like this. As long as the sun shines.
