August September Instagram Recap

So August and September flew by pretty fast, and somehow they seemed to melt into one. In between my many post from Bornholm I forgot to post a recap from August. So this time you get a double one with some of all the pretty houses at Bornholm, in Copenhagen and Berlin.

Goodbye Summer

While I have been busy blogging about my summer holiday, fall has officially hit Berlin, and we can no longer enjoy our dinner outside in the evening sun. Instead we are surrounded by so many beautiful colors and blankets to keep warm.

The herbs on our balcony looks a bit sad and over, but I have harvested seeds to plant next year, and thyme for the food. I am happy because right now the window in our kitchen is filled with new growing life. I succeeded in planting a lemon seed and it is a joy to see it grow a little bit every day (It is the one in the black pot).

I also made a beautiful Upside Down Pear Pistachio Cake from this recipe. It is so good that I already made it twice. It just so happened it matched with the flowers in on the kitchen table, so I couldn't help myself. I had to take a picture.

Gilleleje Havn

On the last evening we spend in Denmark this summer, we visited Gilleleje harbor, where there was an amazing light and I went a bit overboard taking photos of all the boats. We came to eat at a restaurant there, but had some time before to enjoy a walk at the harbor and the surrounding area. A really nice way to end the Danish summer.

Ørestads Sight Seeing

While back in Denmark (still on holiday) we spend a day at Ørestaden looking at some of all the modern architecture popping up among the many building sites. We walked from building to building with a couple of other architecture tourists. I find the development this area is going through quite impressive, but I can't help but feel that it all feels a bit remote and sleepy. It is definitely somewhere I am glad I can return from and not have to return to.
