White Village In The City!

Yesterday we went to Deutsche Guggenheim where we saw the Artist Pawel Althamer, who had made a large amount of white sculptures of humans. The place was almost overcrowded by the sculptures which only left a little space for the visitors to walk round among them. They were really impressive with the faces full of expression and the abstract bodies. Almost looking like a graveyard for embalmed people, who still contained their soul

Normally I don't really care to make a big deal out of New Years eve, and this year was no different. Last night we stayed at home and had dinner a la Lady and the Tramp, we played with sparklers and at last we went out to watch the fireworks from a rooftop together with some friends.  

Status 2011!

So Today is the last day of 2011. It seems like it has gone by way too fast. I have done so many things it is hard to keep track of, but here I gathered some of the highlights. 

As usual in Berlin the year had a cold start to it. 

 However I started out with a travel to somewhere warmer.

First half of the year I saw so many great concerts. Amog them was

 Fleet Foxes

 and José Gonzales

This was also the year I found a man

and one of my best friends got married, and had a beautiful party in their back yard

and then it was time to leave Berlin

And go back to Denmark for a while

There I had time to go to the beach, hang out with friends and family

and pack all my stuff together

Before I moved to London

To start a new life in a new place

 

Go to a new school

And learn new things

What 2012 will bring I can't say. At least I know I what I will be spending my time with, and the I am settled in London for the time being

A New Toy For a New Year!

I got a brand new Camera for Christmas this year and the past couple of days I have been taken pictures of everything I have come across to play around and get to know the features better. Here are some of the pictures I took on my way around town.

Ghosttown!

After spending Christmas in Denmark I came back to London yesterday for a couple of days before spending New Years in Berlin. Somehow unexpected I found the city totally empty. No one in the Tube, at the stations or on the streets. Not even at Holborn which is usually on of the most busy spots. No stores or cafees were open. There was none of the usual buzz that I connect which London. No sound of neighbors, slamming gates in front of the house, sirens, cars, far less airplanes in the sky and no people in the streets.  

This day is one of the busiest days in Denmark. Everyone goes out grocery shopping thinking that otherwise they will famish. This is usually also the day the sale starts and people go exchanging their present and the lines everywhere are endless long, so the contrast really struck me.  Especially because I knew that Boxing day was the day before yesterday, and somehow thought London was already back to it's usual self after the holidays.

I am glad I got to see this side of London as well. It happens really rarely to see such a dramatical difference in a city. Though I from time to time dislike the business of London I am glad it is not like this everyday, however it is kind of nice to know that it is possible.
