Tickon at Tranekær

We did a few outings during our stay at Tåsinge. One afternoon we went to Tickon in the park connected to Tranekær castle.

Some years ago, some artist were invited to do sculptures in the park. A bit similar to Wanås konst (That we visited a couple years ago). The difference is that at Tickon all the sculptures are made from organic material and will disappear over time. Some had already vanished or been broken down by the weather, but there was still some that are quite robust and will stay there for a long time.

It was a very warm day, so I am happy that we walked a lot in the shadow under the trees. Here we also found tiny raspberries, that were grabbed by tiny hands, and put into a tiny mouth. Afterwards we had an ice-cream at the old henhouse just on the opposite side of the road form the park and then it was time to go.

Day In The City

Christmas is approaching and so in order to sort the last couple of Christmas presents and visit some galleries while in Denmark, we went to Copenhagen this Friday. We spend the first hour running in vain since it seems that all the good book stores in Copenhagen are closing. Such a shame.

Afterwards we sat down at Democratic Coffee to get some strength to handle the chaos of the many people in the city. Luckily the Galleries were free of the masses. I didn't take any pictures in the galleries we visited, but I can warmly recommend the current exhibition at Gl. Strand Kunstforening with Artist Niels Pugholm. It was very impressive and I could have spend many hours in there reading the many texts on the walls. They were both fun and interesting. (But only if you can understand Danish.)

Then we went to Nørrebro, as I wanted to try Grød for lunch. Though their interpretation of grød is quite wide, it shows that it is possible to do other thing than plans porridge. Quite a nice cookbook too. And then on the way back to meet a friend we stumbled upon a lovely little cacti store. With so many cute small and big cacti and succulents and beautiful ceramics. I wanted to take them all home.

Haus Am Waldsee

Recently Vincent and I decided to go to Haus Am Waldsee to see the Alicja Kwade exhibition. We took the train to Mexicoplatz and walked from there in very idyllic surroundings. I have never been to Haus Am Waldsee but found it a nice little spot. I can imagine it must be quite nice in late spring and summertime when you can sit in the garden and have tea and cake after looking at the exhibition. I liked the exhibition, at least aesthetically, though I wish it would have been a bit larger.

Afterward we went for a walk in the forest around Waldsee and made our way up to Onkel Toms Hütte where we took the train back. It was a nice warm and sunny day, and with so many different colors and leaves. It reminded me again why fall is my favorite time of the year.

Gothenburg Biennale

The main reason for our little getaway to Gothenburg was to see the Gothenburg Biennale. So besides walking the street we also moved slowly inside the exhibition-spaces.

There were two main venues. One located a bit outside the city at Röda Sten, which was a nice walk through the outskirts and along the waterfront. After seeing the exhibition we walked further out and found more marinas, until we took the tram back to the center.

The other venue was in the city center, and after our visit there, we found a little coffee place, where we could sit down and have a drink and a snack. Travel is for me always a nice opportunity to check out the local coffee places, and I often research them before I leave. This one however we stumbled upon on our way around, so it was nice that it ended up being the best coffee I had during our stay.
