Day Trip To Malmö

Yesterday we went to Malmö for a little stroll and a trip to Malmö Konsthall. The city was at first pretty empty. Either everyone went away for the holidays or the usual swarm of shopping Danes was just missing. During the afternoon a bit more people started to appear and Malmö still looked nice and pretty Christmasy.

The exhibition was a bit of a disappointment, but then it was at least nice to have a great oat-milk cappuccino at Solde Kafferosteri. Very nice a cosy place.

White Silence!

Yesterday we went into the snowy forest for another post-Christmas walk. In its white disguise it seemed almost estranged from its usual self. The map had changed, there was no real signs of paths unless already used by others and it was easy to wind up in an impasse.

While everyone were out exchanging the presents, we were almost alone in the cold and snowy forest and the silence was great. Probably the first and last time this winter I will experience something like this. 

Stuffed!

As always, Christmas consisted of a considerable amount of food. In fact we are still celebrating with the leftovers.

There was everything that we usually eat for Christmas eve and the following days family lunch and a extra French twist at the 2nd day of Christmas with a menu of Foie gras and Confit de canard. My parents made a ton of cookies and konfekt and my aunt brought her almost mandatory chocolate covered almond cake, which recipe my grandmother once got from someone in the bus. We call it rutebil-kage. 

With all this delicious and fatty winter food I am happy that Christmas is only happening once a year.

Winter Wonderland!

Yesterday when I woke up and saw it had been snowing outside I got a bit of a chock, cause it came really unexpected. But it was beautiful to take a walk through Hillerød to digest some of all the food from Christmas eve before sitting down again for Christmas lunch. And for some reason Snow and Christmas fit each other pretty well, don't you think?

God Jul!

Just want to wish all of you a very merry Christmas. In case some of you are not celebrating, I wish you have a good day and evening as well.

This morning we decorated the tree and put way to many presents under it. Food is cooking and it smells lovely, so I will try not to eat anything until we have to sit down at the dinner table tonight. I know there will be too much food for the next couple of days.

Notebooks - Object of Desire!

I got an early Christmas present, from Wednesday – Paper Works. 3 beautiful little notebooks: one blank, one striped and one with dots. I am sure there will be something to fill it with in the upcoming year.

New Friend!

We have invited a new little friend into our home and it is seeking towards the light. It is amazing to see it grow and change daily as is does at the moment, I wonder how long this will go on?
