Some More Rome Impressions

I guess better late than never.

Rome was a nice experience and as I already mentioned it is nice to sit and look through these pictures when it is getting colder and darker outside. I still would like to see more of Rome. After 4 days I had the impression there was still so much more to be seen.

First Rome Impressions

Now that is is getting colder outside it is nice with some warm memories to look back at. In August we travelled to Italy for a week, and first stop was Rome. Here are some of the photos I took on the first afternoon where we walked around trying to get a grasp of the city.

Freesias.

Sometimes it could be great if it was possible to make a scented post on the blog. Because this one is all about smell. I think freesia must be my favorite flower. Not only is it decorative, but every time I come home, I am greeted with its lovely scent, that has taken over the majority of the apartment. And strangely I cannot get enough.

Details Form the New Kitchen

In June the carpenter finally finished installing the new kitchen modules. It is great to finally have cupboards to store things in, a new oven and a workplace around the stove.

Although the kitchen is still not completely finished, I thought I would post some details from it so you can at least get an idea of the changes. There is still a bit to go. We need to finish some of the walls and paint the floor so it appears fresh and coherent. Something that I hope will be done sometime this year.

The Old Kitchen

Even though it is a little while ago now, we had some changes done to our kitchen that I thought I would post. I was trying to look through all my old pictures to see if I could find some of the kitchen before. There wasn't much to choose from. I guess I never really felt that the room was very photographable. But I managed to find a few from throughout the years.

The black and white pictures are from before we did anything at all. Back then the wall was still half covered with wallpaper and old grease. We have gradually been improving stuff.

Last year while we did bathroom renovation, the wall on top of the working table was tiled, and before the new kitchen was installed in the early summer this year, we removed the rest of the wallpaper and plastered the walls.

Summer Visit

A while agon Pauline came to visit and it was a beautiful, sunny and warm weekend. We had proper time to catch up in the shades and on Sunday we went to the Thai market and had lunch.

Sunday in Paris

Sunday in Paris started out with a walk in Parc de Sceaux

Here a guy blew thousands of soap bubbles, which was enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Afterwards, we was a nice lunch

and beautiful cakes that looked like tiny pieces of art.

Then the heavy showers started.

So the rest of the day consisted of indoor activities.
