Overweight!

It seams there is a pattern in the things people decide to give me for the moment. Tuesday, I got a late birthday present from Teal, which was "The Book of Jewish Food". I am looking forward to reading it as it does not only contain recipes but also history of the gastronomy.


Today I got a goodbye present from Claudia, who made a book with 444 pages. One for everyday we've been working together. It is really cute with lots of different styles of paper and a handwritten site number on every page. I really can't wait to put this into use as well.
Both will be in my suitcase when I go to London.

Post Weawing Party!

For the last week, Claudia and I have been working hard to get the weaving stuff done in time for last nights party at her studio. The party was a presentation the dancing video we shot a couple of months ago, but also a little presentation of the weaved stuff that we did.
The video was projected on the window, and could be seen from inside and outside which was really beautiful together with the old building.

Roof with a View!

Claudia and I went to two openings after work. First one was the from the students at Weißensee kunsthögschule, which was placed in an old pavilion in one of Berlins many parks.
Most impressive of all was the rooftop construction they build, reviling 3 cars on the top, when we climbed the stairs.

Second we went to an opening in "Sprüth Magers" located across the street. Here I only had time, to see one of the artists, Andrea Zittel who I was told, mostly build different types of mobile homes. I somehow really liked this one, with all the little boxes filled with household stuff etc. The big room was also very impressive, and I think I will try to find the time and go back and see the rest of the exhibition.

Zum Geburtstag!

So today it was my birthday, and I had a really nice day. I started my day opening the letters I received from Denmark.

I went to have American Style brunch together with Vincent, and it was the best brunch I have had for a long time. And the view from our outside table was really nice on this sunny day.

 Later in the day I went to the park. Stine and I decided to have a last minute "Geburtstag Feier" with a few friends.

I made a trail of Danish flags so everyone would know where to go.

We had soap bubbles in the sun. 

The other Birthday girl

She made a Sponge-bob birthday cake.

And I made my favorite chocolate cake.

 She gave me a really nice summer hat.

And I brought her a plant, since I didn't have time to finish her present.

There were flags everywhere.

And though the weather was really nice, It rained for a few minutes, while the sun was still shining. Luckily we sat under a tree.

I almost wish that I could have a birthday every day since this day was so nice. So thanks to everyone who made this day special and thought of me, and wished me a happy birthday.

Patience Is Required!

Today I have been leaning something new. And after locking myself inside my room the past couple of months, only working with art, it was kind of nice to try something different. Claudia is taking a weaving course to experiment on the possibilities, and she brought me along. It was so much fun, and time just flew. I am really looking forward to going there tomorrow again.

You Did Good!

Today Claudia gave me flower to congratulate me on getting accepted to school. It was totally unexpected and so sweet of her, so I decided to let them stay in the Studio so we can both enjoy them.

Dance, Dance, Dance

The two last days I have been helping Claudia, who I work for, to make an artistic fashion video for her new collection.
It has been fun, hard work and a lot of waiting time, and I can't wait to see the result. Here is some backstage pictures.

Weird Trailer Trash Story!

Every day on my way to work I pass Babylon Kino. Being one of the few cinemas in Berlin that actually have an interesting program and showing original language, it is surprising that I haven't been there before last night.

The film "Trash Humpers" by Harmony Korine was screened there as part of an American Independent film festival, and I wanted to see this film since November 2009. The small cinema was packed, people even sat in front of the front row. Claudia also decided to come along, because she is a fan of his. I am still not sure I understand everything that happened in this film, which is semi documentary. It was really weird, fun and unpleasant, and when I got home I had to see if I could find some information about it, that would made me understand it better. One of the things I did enjoy was the visual, which was this blurry VHS look, which made a nice contrast to all the modern "clean" movies.
