One of the things I like most about London is that there are so many possibilities to go and see great exhibitions, interesting talks and artist events. Today I went to see Santiago Sierra in Conversation with Hans Ulrich Obrist at the Lisson Gallery. His show at Lisson features over 50 video works from his entire career. It is opening tonight but at the talk we had the chance to get a sneak peak.
It was really great to hear an artist I admire talk about his own work. His approach to things, ideas and processes. Santiago Sierras work is somehow radical and very political and therefor it was fun to hear him say that he is anti government.
Sadly the sound was a bit to low, Hans Ulrich Obrist had a very German accent and Santiago Sierra kept scratching his beard but it was still a great experience and gave me a lot of stuff to think about.
I also really liked his NO, which is an ongoing traveling project. It looked beautiful in the white gallery and it was great how it was marked by the journey it had been on.

Low Commitment Project!
I found this new blog, that just started at beginning of January. The Low commitment project is two former art student who made the New Years resolution to make a project for each Monday doing 2012, to keep creative contact after graduating. I really like the simplicity of their projects, and am looking forward to see what they will come up with throughout 2012.

Shoreditch Grind!
This is one of my favorite Coffee places in London. For several reasons. First of all, the coffee there is of cause very good. Second, I love the minimalistic interior and the light in there. Third, I love spending hours sitting at the window just checking out people who are passing by.

After The Rain!
Lovely Lilly made Pistachio Macarons this weekend, and today she offered me some. So after getting drenched on my way home cycling through the rain, it was nice to enjoy a cup of afternoon coffee with a touch of France.

Quiet Day In January!
At noon I went for a walk to enjoy the weather and saw snowdrops as a quite early sign of spring. Then I went to the Museum of Childhood in a old beautiful building in Bethnal Green, and looked at old toys trying to find something inspiring.

Everchanging seasons!
Today has been almost like a spring day. The sun was shining, then it was rainy, then shining. I went to the park with Martin. We got a coffee, and took a walk around and ended up on a bench were we sat for an hour watching people pass by. I also managed to pick a small piece of hydrangea for the vase I bought on the trödelmarkt in Berlin.

The Joy Of Books!
I just saw this video that I thought I would share with you all.
I wonder if my books do the same when I am out of the house.

Frosen Days In London!
We started this week of with some really cold, but remarkable sunny and clear days. And after talking about how much I like the architecture in Berlin I took my camera out to take some pictures of some of the houses that I really like here in London.
Bicycle Bicycle!
Yesterday I decided to buy a new bike. I have been thinking about it for a while. The reason was that the other one has been giving my quite a lot of trouble the past couple of months. Especially with the gears, and now it broke and can't be fixed.
My main problem when I choose a new bike is, that I am a sucker for old Vintage bikes, so instead of finding a good running modern mountain bike that will ride smoothly up the hills of London, I tend to choose the ones I know I will look good on while driving, and this time was no exception. I have to admit that I have already had a bit of trouble with the gear, but I hope that a quick look from someone who knows what they are doing will make it spin like a dream.

Walking Along The Wall!
One of my favorite things about Berlin is the architecture. I can still get amazed how many great houses in different colors and structures there are. Therefore I was also very sad to see, that what used to be my favorite wall, was now covered by a construction site, where a new building was build. Now I have to find a new favorite. Here is maybe some of the candidates.

Perfect Grey Afternoon!
Today we spend some of the afternoon in Lovely Vux, where you can't wear fur, and all their delicious cake is dairy free. It reminds me of an old beach house on a nice spring day, and it as nice to escape the gray and rainy sky for a while on this this rainy winter afternoon. In the end the sweetness of the cake was a little to much for me, but then it was good to have company by someone who loves cake.
Afterwards we took a long walk and ended the day by eating original french galette.
