One of the things I like most about London is that there are so many possibilities to go and see great exhibitions, interesting talks and artist events. Today I went to see Santiago Sierra in Conversation with Hans Ulrich Obrist at the Lisson Gallery. His show at Lisson features over 50 video works from his entire career. It is opening tonight but at the talk we had the chance to get a sneak peak.
It was really great to hear an artist I admire talk about his own work. His approach to things, ideas and processes. Santiago Sierras work is somehow radical and very political and therefor it was fun to hear him say that he is anti government.
Sadly the sound was a bit to low, Hans Ulrich Obrist had a very German accent and Santiago Sierra kept scratching his beard but it was still a great experience and gave me a lot of stuff to think about.
I also really liked his NO, which is an ongoing traveling project. It looked beautiful in the white gallery and it was great how it was marked by the journey it had been on.
