One of the things I had been looking much forward to when going to Sicily, was to go to the local food market each morning and get all sorts of delicious things and local delicacies. After spending time in France last year it is one of the things, I miss most.
One day we went there and got cold-cut specialties, cheese, bread, fruit and spreads to make a real feast in the evening. A very nice break from eating out.
I love the vibe of such markets, the shouting vendors, the smell of all the food and the buzz of people trying to find the best offer or most ripe tomatoes.
