Berlin Guide Update
It's been a long time, but I finally got around to make an update on my Berlin guide. I have removed some stuff and put in a lot of new places and experiences, that you could use as inspiration, if you are headed this way. You can check it out here, or use the link on the side bar.

Nexø
Nexø came of as a bit of a sleepy town. In fact the two times we were there, nothing much was happening. Not many people on the streets and quite quiet.
However culinary Nexø was a different story. Here we really had the best experiences on the trip, when it came to food. First it was Chris & Mario: a little ice-cream place that served, I dare to say, the best ice-cream I have ever had. My mouth is watering just at the thought of it. If I lived close to this place it would be hard not to go back all the time for more, so somehow that makes me happy but also a bit sad (I can only hope they would ever open a branch in Berlin).
Second was Nexø Old Smokery, that served delicious smoked fish in an authentic environment. They had a beautiful double chimney, a view to the sea and a considerable amount of fish and other smoked goodies.
We just had to return to Nexø on the last day of our trip. To get an extra ice-cream and to have lunch and take back some smoked fish for the days to come.
So this was my last post about Bornholm. I know that there has been quite a few, I think I have been a bit overwhelmed with all the great things this island had to offer, and how great it can be with a holiday in Denmark. I definitely hope it won't be the last time I visit.

Erica and Blueberries
One of the greatest parts of Bornholm was the beautiful nature, that is somehow quite different because of the cliffs and the hilly landscape, but at the same time also similar to the rest of Denmark. We had some really nice walks in the forest and on the heath and I just love that there is Erica everywhere you go. It must be one of my favorite wild flowers.
One day we were walking in the area of Paradisbakkerne (Paradise Hills) and there we so many blueberries, that we had to stop the entire time and eat some more. At the end our tongues and hands were completely blue from their juice. To bad we didn't bring a basket.

Hallegård
One day we visited Hallegård Butcher and café, to have a lunch and taste some of their homemade sausages.
As we arrived, we were meet by the sight of happy piglets eating outside, and a cute little farmhouse that didn't show obvious traces of having a production or a cafe. But behind the little red door, there were lots of delicious fresh food and Bornholmian specialities, and we had hot dogs and tapas in the garden and I ended getting stung by a wasp.
I think I am becoming more and more a food tourist. Mainly because all the souvenirs, I put in the suitcase for back home, are food. So of cause I also got some edible things from Hallegård to take back to Germany.

Rønne
For being the biggest city on Bornholm, Rønne is a nice little city. It has a great mix of old and new, and the city square is really beautiful.
We spend one of the warmer afternoons there sitting in the midday sun and enjoying Bornholmian Tapas without any sign of wind or a cloud in the sky.
