Last night I was at an exhibition opening. Etienne Allaix, the artist found a lot of old photos, and cut them through to remove the faces in the pictures to create a universal memory, rather than a personal one. I really liked it. The old photographs for sure, but also the idea, though I don't think that I could do it myself. I love buying old photographs at the fleamarked, but the main reason I do so, is because I find the people on them inspiring, despite of the fact that I don't know them.
